GRAPHIC DESIGN

What kind of graphic design services do you provide?

Our graphic design services are varied and comprehensive. We provide logo design, brochure design, illustrations, graphics for web sites, direct mail design, marketing, stationery – including business card, letterhead, envelope, mailing label, and presentation folder design, and any other printing your business may require. Give us a call to see what we can do for you.

What do you charge for your graphic design services?

Prices depend on many variants but you can be sure that the money you're paying is for high-quality, uncompromised work. You won't find that with some of our competitors. We encourage prospective clients to compare CMA Designs with agencies producing the same level of work. If you would like us to price out a job for you, give us a call today.

What is the client's involvement in the design process?

We thoroughly discuss the project at hand with our client from the beginning. We encourage the client to bring in any samples, color combinations/swatches, and ideas they may have. During the design process, the client is asked to approve certain milestones before work continues. At the conclusion of a project, the client may request the artwork in various formats.

How will I receive my design project once it is finished?

A finished project is yours upon receipt of final payment. At your request, we will supply the electronic files to you on CD, floppy, or through e-mail. We also keep a copy of your project on file for later updates or should you lose your copy.

Who owns the copyright for work Scribble Graphics has done for me?

Copyright is yours upon receipt of final payment. We do, however, reserve the right to use any work for promotional purposes.

How does your logo design process work?

We first discuss the client's needs, target market, and uses for this logo. We then ask for samples of existing logos that the client likes or dislikes to get an idea of their taste. Sometimes the client already has a design concept in mind. Other times, they have no idea what they want. Either way, our designers make sure they've collected enough information before they begin work. Our logo design service is very flexible. If you'd like to see only a few concepts or if you need many, our service can be priced according to your needs.

I need something designed yesterday. Can you help me?

We can usually accommodate your rush job depending on how full our production schedule is. To be fair to other clients, if a job already in production is interrupted by a rush job, we reserve the right to add an additional 50% – 100% on top of the normal price.

How Do I Print with a Border?

With ALL designed material we recommend you leave 1/4" (0.25) from all surrounding edges of your printed piece. If you leave less than 1/4" (0.25), we cannot be held responsible for unequal borders from top to bottom and from side to side. This is due to the final cutting process in which some "draw" or "slippage" occurs in that cutting process. This is a print industry standard.

What is a bleed and when should it be used?

A bleed is extra area outside of your document that is trimmed off to insure proper cuts. In simple terms - your background should go off an 8th of an inch more than your actual print size. Bleed is not required unless it is specified under the product description. You should download our pre-approved templates to ensure that your job is designed properly.

WE REQUIRE BLEEDS ON BUSINESS CARDS. No Exceptions, or you risk your job being miscut. Although our cutting staff is extremely precise, we can not guarantee any print job cuts without the added bleed when required.

Also, please keep your text at least 1/4" away from the edge of the piece unless it is an eighth page or smaller. This way your text is in a "safe" area. If you have any questions regarding this policy you may call us, or use our design templates.

What should my files resolution be?

All file formats must have bit map resolutions of 300dpi/ppi and embedded or outlined fonts. We accept the following file formats: .TIF, .JPG, .PDF, .EPS and .PSD. At the time, we do not accept quark files, Pagemaker, Corel Draw, or any similar software. However, these formats can be easily converted into an industry standard format with a few easy steps. If you are unsure about your file format, give us a call and we will help.

What type of files do you accept?

Adobe Photoshop (.psd) - FLATTENED
Adobe Illustrator (.ai or .eps) - Fonts converted to outlines/curves
Adobe InDesign (.indd) Exported as a PDF
Adobe PageMaker (.pmd) Exported as a PDF
QuarkXpress (.qxd) Exported as a EPS or PDF
Corel Draw (.cdr) - curves

We also accept the standard industry formats: .eps .pdf .tif .jpeg

Can I resize my 72dpi artwork to 300dpi?

Unfortunetly, you can not increase your resolution for a design that has been created low resolution. The output will be blurry or grainy, and at times, unreadable.

The only solution to this is to redesign your piece at the correct resolution.

WEB DESIGN

What kind of web sites do you produce?

We produce HTML and Flash sites.

Why don't you recommend FLASH based sites?

The FLASH is a future technology. For now HTML is still the best choice. Why? Because the search engines don't understand FLASH. A FLASH based site is a blank page for the search engines and it is normal that they will not index it. And you tell me then why having a cool looking FLASH based web site that no-one can find?

Do you offer site promotion?

No. There are several specialized companies that will do a nice job for you.

How will I receive my ready to upload web site?

If the entire size of the web site is under 5Mb (95% of the cases) we will send it by e-mail as an attached ZIP archive. If your www site is oversized, we will send it via FTP.

What browsers are you optimizing sites for?

We take care for your web site to look perfectly in Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator and FireFox. These browsers have 98% of all Internet hits, so the others are not crucial. MS Internet Explorer has about 90% all internet hits, so we think it's the most important and we pay it attention first of all.

Do you use CSS?

Of course! It is the most powerful web design instrument with HTML sites. Cascading Style Sheets technology offers the opportunity to make complicated layouts without increasing the files size.

Will you upload my site?

Yes. To upload your site we will need your server (FTP) username and password that must be unacceptable for you.

GENERAL

How Do I Place An Order?

Step by step instructions on how to process an order is located Here.

Alternatively, if you have any problems placing your order with us, we would be glad to walk you through the order process over the phone.

Do You Guarantee Colors?

If your job is color critical, you MUST ORDER A COLOR PROOF at the time of your order. If a color proof is not ordered we are not responsible for any color variations from your monitor to our presses. We cannot stress this enough, color variations will occur, if you need to attain perfect color on your job it can only be acheived by a color proof.

Gang Run printing is the process of creating printed pieces at substantially discounted prices. One of the pitfalls of Gang-Run printing is that we reliquish the control of individual piece color to compensate for the entire run. This does not mean your colors will be drastically different, but that in regards to Gang-Run printing- the industry standard practice is to accept a overall pleasing color, which is 95%-100% accurate to the image.

Because of limitations with the Gang-Run printing process, the differences in equipment, paper, and neighboring image ink requirements- the accuracy of color reproduction is not guaranteed. By placing an order with us you agree to this limitation.

We accept no responsibility for color variations between submitted files and the final printed piece. Under no circumstances will a reprint be honored for color variations that have occurred during the printing process.

The exception to this condition is when a job is placed on an entire run, which provides full control of the color matching process. If your job can be placed on its own run, we can pull a color specific proof which our pressman will match.
